What is Snoring and How can you Stop to Snore?

In plain words, snoring is nothing else but the vibrations of fatty tissue in the tonsils and the noise created during breathing if, and when, the air tract become clogged in any way. It can arise both from ones nose or tonsils. When the air tract become clogged the air is forced in and out through narrower 睡眠窒息症呼吸機 opening, usually at a greater pressure. Most commonly snoring occurs in the tonsils. When we are in bed, our muscles relax to give out body opportunity to rest. Muscles inside our mouth (jaw and tonsils muscles) relax as well. It is not something that one can control.

Go now to the mirror and open the mouth area wide. You can see two roundish structures at both sides of your tonsils, tonsils and a hanging fatty tissue at the center called uvula. The uvula hangs from the part of the mouth area called soft palette (follow the roof of your mouth with your tongue now and you will be able to feel where the hard palette finishes and the soft palette starts).

During the day your tissue in the tonsils is kept tight leaving you with wide opening through which you can breathe in air. At night, when you are in bed, and your muscles are relaxed, soft palette relaxes as well and the uvula hangs loser. Air that you breathe in and out causes the loose fatty tissue in your tonsils to vibrate as they apply against each other. The tonsils and soft palette can relax to the point of preventing somewhat your air tract. To compensate for the narrower entrance your body starts making the air in and out at greater pressure increasing the vibration thus the sounds called snoring.

Amount of noise created by snoring will vary. That brings to mind, causes of a very loud snoring can be exactly the same as the ones causing barely clear occasional snores.
